Georgette Varela

Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer

Georgette Varela, is currently the Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer of Sage Health Just for Seniors, with over 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Sage Health, she served as Chief Executive Officer, to EON Health, a Medicare Advantage Plan licensed in Georgia and South Carolina offering MAPD, CSNP and DSNP products.  

Prior to her tenure at Eon Health, LLC, she served as Chief Financial Officer at Doctors Medical Center, an IPA with fifteen medical centers in Miami-Dade and Broward counties serving over 82,000 members.  She successfully managed over twelve risk-based contracts for their Dual Medicare and Medicaid populations. Previous to this position, she served as VP of Operations for Independent Livings Systems, which provides MLTSS administrative services on a capitated basis to health plans.  

She also served as Chief Financial Officer to Jackson South Community Hospital one of the three hospitals within the Jackson Health System, Public Trust.  Prior to serving in this position, Georgette held the position of Corporate Director of the Financial Project Management Office and successfully implemented over $183M of cost savings and revenue enhancement initiatives. Additionally, Georgette worked as the Senior Lead implementing Clinical Cost accounting systems at over 117 military hospitals for the Department of Defense while working for McKesson/HBOC a publicly traded company. Georgette additionally has served in the capacity of Sr. Director of Hospital contracting and VP of Business Analytics for Preferred Care Partners, a United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plan.
